RV Lot Notes and History

In 2014, the board proposed raising a use fee for the RV lot. The intent was to use help RV lot users take more responsibility for the slots, reduce unfair use of the RV lot (buildings, use of a lot of slots, etc.), and to pay for needed maintenance. After gathering opinions from residents, it was decided to not raise a use fee. It was concluded that the idea of a use fee for the RV lot has merit, but future consideration of such a policy would need more careful deliberation of issues such as:

  • Whether imposition of such a fee would have a negative impact on HOA culture and identity.
  • Whether use fees for other amenities would be needed to maintain fairness.
  • How the new fees are to be allocated and applied.
  • Lessons learned from history about implementation of fees within the HOA.
  • The impact of the improvements that happened in 2014.
  • Whether the board has authority to impose such a fee, or whether a vote from the residents is needed.

One idea that was proposed that seemed to have significant merit is to charge for use of the "extra" slots; the first one is covered with HOA dues.
