Roads

Keep track of the time line for road repairs. If it has been 5 years, the bids and applications for city help (who will pay 30%) needs to be in by January to be considered. Get the bids and applications in ASAP.

According to the Reserve Study, the Asphalt - Slurry Seal (apx $15,500) should be done every 5 years to make the useful life of the road 20 years; and we are due to have an Asphalt - Overlay (apx $119,000) in 2013.

History:

• August 2009 : Asphalt - Slurry Seal was applied along with some repairs for areas where water pooled up
• April 2013: Minor repair work done on roads
• 2013/2014 : Due for Asphalt - Overlay (According to the Reserve Study... See note below)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Matt Jones (461 Village Dr) works for Geneva Rock and mentioned that there is a new technology called "Micro-surfacing " that we should look into for extending the life of the road without the cost of ripping it out (down to the sand) and re-doing it completely.
